Gynecomastia Post Surgery Experience

I am writing this not because I am a doctor or have any medical experience and background. I write about my gynecomastia surgery experience because I was dying of it. I hope to spread an understanding that even this symptom looks dangerous, it is a hundred percent curable. Besides, life is not that hard when you only have one boob.

Two lemons

What is Gynecomastia?

If you are a male and have breast tissue caused by a hormonal imbalance, you may have gynecomastia. In some cases, it happens to not only one but both breasts. The doctor asked if I go to the gym and use a vitamin or prescription for muscle growth. I said I didn't, but I assume the food and drinks I consume also come into play.

As for me, it started since I was in high school. Although there is no sure research on the cause of gynecomastia, it is only a hormonal matter. The progesterone hormone makes my right boob is grown-up than the left one. That was the only thing that I knew. The problem persisted until I felt that whenever I touched it, it felt hurt. The pain inside is more when I do activities such as playing soccer or lifting any heavy objects.

The first (and second) surgery

I got it checked, and the doctor said there is no other cure than the surgery. He said it would be just a mild surgery. We preferred to do it at a dispensary because it was cheaper than the hospital. After 3 hours of resting, I will be okay and can go home. At the very least, that was the plan I hope will succeed. I called this surgery: version 1.0. If you want to know, I have never had surgery other than my circumstance before. But, at that time, I was not afraid of anything. Not yet.

About two days after the surgery, I only rested at home. The blaze started when on the 3rd day, I was back to visit the doctor. He was surprised that the wound was not in a complete cure.

Even worse, he decided to take me to the hospital right away and did another surgery.

Let's called this surgery: version 1.1.

Even if I did the surgery at a bigger hospital, the doctor paid all the expenses. I thought that was because the doctor felt guilty, and the previous one was not running well. It was his responsibility because of his slips.

After several days in the hospital, I went home with a lot of solicitude.

My insomnia was getting worse. I can not sleep at night and on days. The worst thing about to happen was I was forgotten and died in no time. My life was just about to end that night.

Surgery 2.0

Time heals me. Several years after the nightmare, I got the same issue in 2015 (or 2014?). My right breast started to feel hurt, at the very exact place as before.

I was frightened that time, afraid that I would get another surgery. After visited three different doctors, I got the same summary: another surgery. I called this: surgery 2.0.

We decided to do it at M4y*pada Hospital. In the surgical room, I took out all of my clothes, then wearing nothing other than a thin linen surgical scrub. The operation table was so cold and felt like a giant iceberg. I was afraid to admit that I was about to die. The doctor injected the anesthetic and told me to count backward. I felt nothing other than my acceptance.

God, I asked for your forgiveness and mercy. I bring none, only my high stack of misdeeds. I can't say that I am more than ready to go home. But if this is the time, I hope you take me back to where Adam and Hawa lived.

Long story short, I still survived. Alhamdulillah.

The day I lost my boob, I gained more balls. You need to feel that you are damn close to death, before or even after the surgery. You started to think about what you have done in life. What is your purpose? Your legacy? Think that as a spiritual experience, I hope it will enrich my personal life and make me a better person.
